Jenn is an experienced road, gravel, and MTB rider and mechanic. Her rides have spanned from local roads and trails to urban riding in San Francisco and New York City, and cities across Asia and Europe. As a ride leader, she has taken groups through upstate New York. Currently, she helps to organize and lead Girl Gang, a monthly women’s road. She’s also a Bicycle Instructor Certification Program (BICP) Level 2 certified instructor focused on providing quality bike instruction–on and off bike–to all. As a mechanic, she does her own building, maintenance, and tuning. She’s proven many experienced mechanics wrong with her applied mathematics background to make the impossible, possible.

Jenn’s cycling journey began by trading motorcycle gears for bicycle pedals and seeking views of San Francisco’s scenic vistas. Hawk Hill repeats trained her climbing legs and the city streets, her track stands and handling skills. This urban grit sharpened her skills as a rider, but also as a mechanic–forcing her to master repairs under the grime of city roads and winter’s salt. Continuing her urban lifestyle after moving to NYC, she also found the necessity to repair and maintain her bikes from the harsh city road grit and winter weather salt. This led her to building her own road bike in the living room of her NYC apartment and Brooklyn bike co-op in Brooklyn. She has been doing her own repairs and new bike builds ever since.

As one of the few women who would braved the winter elements through 15 degree weather–she was a Rapha Ride Leader taking riders to upstate adventures and found the necessity to do tube replacements rapidly during the cold. This motivated her to educate others so that they are able to safely get to their destination.
She has taken part in gravel races and community events near and far–the Belgian Waffle Ride, the Last Best Ride in Montana, Rooted Vermont, Ruta del Jefe in Arizona, Rapha Festive 500 in Taiwan, and Rapha’s Women’s 100 Ride. Through these rides, she has met riders from all walks of life with inspiring stories of their bike journeys.

Now residing in San Diego County, she used the 2020 Pandemic closures to explore every trail nook and cranny after moving from NYC. Additionally, she has taken on organizing Girl Gang, a monthly road ride. She is focused on community impact, inclusion, and uniting people through bikes.
